Danske Bank appoints head of new Wealth Management unit

Danske Bank appoints Tonny Thierry Andersen head of the new Wealth Management unit with effect from 1 April 2016.

Tonny Thierry Andersen, who is 51 years old, has been head of Danske Bank's Personal Banking unit since 2012. He will continue in this position as well until his replacement has been found.

Employed at Danske Bank since 1999, Tonny Thierry Andersen has held various management positions in the Group, including that of CFO. He will continue to serve on the Executive Board, as he has done since 2006.

"Wealth Management is a business area that is undergoing rapid change and holds considerable potential," says CEO Thomas F. Borgen. "The new unit encompasses our expertise within pension savings and wealth and asset management and will thus be able to drive an even stronger development of products and services. Our ambition is to offer the best solutions in the market. That requires a visionary and innovative organisation with an intense focus on our customers, and I believe Tonny Thierry Andersen is the right person to lead the unit."

The new Wealth Management organisation begins operations today and encompasses the Danica Pension, Danske Capital and Private Banking activities. Financial reporting for the unit will take place as of Q1 2016.
