The European Commission said on Tuesday it had approved plans by Swedish post office Posten and Denmark's DSV to set up a new joint venture to distribute parcels and freight in Norway.

The joint venture, called DSV Transport Holding Innland AS, was authorised under the Commission's simplified procedure, under which uncontroversial mergers are cleared automatically after one month if no one raises competition concerns
